LEADERS IN PREPAID
The general purpose reloadable (GPR) prepaid space is growing very quickly, offering a convenient, low-cost banking and payments option for millions of consumers. This panel discussion with some of the country’s top GPR program managers will explore:
- The market – How large is the GPR market today? How fast is it growing? Who is the target customer? Is growth coming at the expense of banks or do GPR cards expand the overall market?
- Economics – How do GPR program managers make money? Reg II currently exempt interchange on most GPR prepaid cards. Is this exemption critical to the business case? Does this create an unfair advantage over traditional bank debit cards?
- Market entry – two large new players have entered the GPR market recently. If a bank wants to participates in the GPR space, what advice would you offer? How important is distribution vs. functionality vs. fees?
