Amy Parsons

Senior Vice President of Global Commerce, Discover Financial Services


Amy Parsons serves as Senior Vice President, Head of Global Commerce, for Discover Financial Services. In this role, Ms. Parsons is responsible for leading strategic planning, payments innovation, and product deployment initiatives across Discover, as well as sales engagement and partnership development with Discover’s largest retail partners.

Previously, she was based in London and led the Global Acceptance Business Development and Client Management teams. In this role, Ms. Parsons was responsible for expanding partnerships with leading global banks and acquirers, while helping to build the business to the 3rd largest global payments network.

Ms. Parsons has more than 25 years of experience in Payment Services with expertise in developing strategic business opportunities and partnerships. At Discover, she has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility across a variety of functional areas. For example, shortly after the acquisition of Diners Club International, Ms. Parsons led the team that created what is now a worldwide ATM network in more than 125 countries. Prior to that, she provided strategic insights for the Merchant Acquiring Program, and formed the initial Business Development team in 2006. She also served as a member of the PULSE acquisition team and led the corporate integration across Discover in 2005. Earlier in her tenure, she was instrumental in opening the Phoenix Network Services Center and developed the new hire training program for Merchant Servicing.

Prior to joining Discover, she worked at Vital Processing Services (currently TSYS Acquiring Solutions) providing strategic direction for new and existing products.

Ms. Parsons received a B.S. in Marketing from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. through the Executive Program at the W.P. Carey School of Business. She is a Board Member of Lambs Farm, a non-profit that provides residential and vocational services for adults with developmental disabilities, and serves on their Finance and Renovation committees.
